After 20 years as a nanny and maternity nurse, I’ve seen just about every kind of family and sleep struggle. Too often, I worked alongside “sleep trainers” offering one-size-fits-all fixes that never made sense. Why use “cry it out” for a 4am wake-up without finding the cause? It felt like treating a headache with painkillers instead of asking why it hurts.
